Beechfield Landscaping was established in 1981. We have been providing quality landscape construction, maintenance, and snow removal services for over 40 years!
We are a full service, licensed company with an experienced staff. Our team of professionals takes great pride in providing prompt, reliable, and courteous service to our clients. We work with commercial property owners, property managers, developers, general contractors, and government agencies.
We are located in Carroll County, Maryland and provide service to all of central Maryland. We have completed projects in Hagerstown, Annapolis, D.C., and Aberdeen and on Maryland’s eastern shore.
Beechfield Landscaping has worked on many State and Federal projects and understands the importance of following required security and safety procedures. Our staff values the importance of adhering to construction schedules and budgets.
our Mission
History
Beechfield was started by Jack McGehrin and his wife Terry McGehrin in 1981. The business was formerly known as Beechfield Lawn & Garden Service, named after Beechfield Avenue in Baltimore where Jack and Terry met and grew up. The name was later changed to Beechfield Landscaping and the company was incorporated in 1989.
Matt Postlethwait joined the Beechfield team as Operations Manager in 2000, and was promoted to General Manager in 2003. Jack, Terry, and Matt worked diligently for many years growing and refining the business. Jack and Terry retired in December of 2020, after nearly 4 decades of service to Beechfield’s many employees and clients. Matt Postlethwait took ownership on January 1st, 2021and is surrounded by a very dedicated and experienced management team.

Tyler O'Connell is an Account Manager for Beechfield Landscaping, Inc. He oversees a portfolio of properties and assists his clients with their outdoor facility needs. Tyler is a seasoned professional in the landscape industry with a comprehensive skill set including both field and management experience in landscape construction, grounds maintenance, and snow removal operations.
Tyler first fell in love with landscaping as a kid where he loved to play in the dirt and had a curiosity to learn about the different kinds of plants and trees. With an innate appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors, Tyler's journey in the landscape industry has been defined by his dedication to enhancing and preserving the natural environment.
Outside of work, Tyler and his wife have two dogs and enjoy hiking, camping, watching sports, hunting, fishing, quadding/dirt biking, and anything else outdoors. He loves hockey and has a goal of visiting every NHL stadium. He still to this day enjoys playing in the dirt as often as possible.
