Beechfield Landscaping was established in 1981. We have been providing quality landscape construction, maintenance, and snow removal services for over 40 years!

We are a full service, licensed company with an experienced staff. Our team of professionals takes great pride in providing prompt, reliable, and courteous service to our clients. We work with commercial property owners, property managers, developers, general contractors, and government agencies.

We are located in Carroll County, Maryland and provide service to all of central Maryland. We have completed projects in Hagerstown, Annapolis, D.C., and Aberdeen and on Maryland’s eastern shore.

Beechfield Landscaping has worked on many State and Federal projects and understands the importance of following required security and safety procedures. Our staff values the importance of adhering to construction schedules and budgets.

History

Beechfield was started by Jack McGehrin and his wife Terry McGehrin in 1981. The business was formerly known as Beechfield Lawn & Garden Service, named after Beechfield Avenue in Baltimore where Jack and Terry met and grew up. The name was later changed to Beechfield Landscaping and the company was incorporated in 1989.

Matt Postlethwait joined the Beechfield team as Operations Manager in 2000, and was promoted to General Manager in 2003. Jack, Terry, and Matt worked diligently for many years growing and refining the business. Jack and Terry retired in December of 2020, after nearly 4 decades of service to Beechfield’s many employees and clients. Matt Postlethwait took ownership on January 1st, 2021and is surrounded by a very dedicated and experienced management team.

Matt Postlethwait

President
Matt Postlethwait is the President and owner of Beechfield Landscaping, Inc. He guided the Beechfield Team as the General Manager for 18 years before taking ownership in January 2021. Matt began his landscaping vocation as a teenager working for his father’s business, Postlethwait’s Landscaping. Matt’s love of the outdoors and passion for business inspired him to pursue landscaping as a career. He attended The Pennsylvania State University where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Contracting and a minor in Business. He moved to Maryland in 1996 to continue his landscaping profession. Outside of work, Matt volunteers as a wrestling coach. He also enjoys hunting, watching sports, and spending time with his family. Bonnie Pickett

Bonnie Pickett

Landscape Operations Manager
Bonnie Picket has been with Beechfield Landscaping for 28 years. She started out in the field as a crewmember and quickly climbed the ranks into a Crew Leader position. Bonnie worked for 11 years leading crews on both landscape maintenance and landscape installation projects. She is also a certified concrete paver installer. Bonnie was promoted to the Landscape Operations Manager in 2011. Her duties include estimating, sales, purchasing, scheduling, and project management. Bonnie’s extensive field experience combined with her management skills are a huge asset to company and clients alike. Outside of work, Bonnie enjoys spending time with family & friends, riding her Harley Davidson, and shooting pool. NALP Proud Member Badge

Tyler O'Connell

Maintenance Account Manager

Tyler O'Connell is an Account Manager for Beechfield Landscaping, Inc.  He oversees a portfolio of properties and assists his clients with their outdoor facility needs.   Tyler is a seasoned professional in the landscape industry with a comprehensive skill set including both field and management experience in landscape construction, grounds maintenance, and snow removal operations. 

Tyler first fell in love with landscaping as a kid where he loved to play in the dirt and had a curiosity to learn about the different kinds of plants and trees. With an innate appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors, Tyler's journey in the landscape industry has been defined by his dedication to enhancing and preserving the natural environment.

Outside of work, Tyler and his wife have two dogs and enjoy hiking, camping, watching sports, hunting, fishing, quadding/dirt biking, and anything else outdoors. He loves hockey and has a goal of visiting every NHL stadium. He still to this day enjoys playing in the dirt as often as possible.

Salvador Alvarado

Salvador Alvarado

Maintenance Production Manager
Salvador Alvarado is Beechfield’s Maintenance Production Manager. He is responsible for scheduling and overseeing the grounds maintenance operations. Salvador regularly inspects Beechfield’s portfolio of properties to ensure crews are working safely and efficiently. He monitors jobsite quality and assists with company training. Salvador started with Beechfield Landscaping in 2008 as an entry level crewmember. His work ethic, attention to detail and passion for landscaping earned him a Crew Leader position in 2012. Salvador continued to excel and was promoted to Production Manager in 2019. When not on the job, Salvador volunteers as a Deacon in his church and also enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters. NALP Proud Member Badge

Stephanie Carnegie

Office Manager
Stephanie Carnegie is the Office/Accounting Manager at Beechfield Landscaping, Inc. Stephanie coordinates all accounting, payroll, and daily office administration. Stephanie has worked in the Landscape / Construction industry for over 35 years, holding many different positions to include - Accounting Specialist, Executive Assistant and Construction Project Coordinator. Stephanie’s contracting knowledge, accounting experience, and keen organizational skills keep the office operating like clockwork. Tom Redmond

Maintenance Account Manager
Tom Redmond became interested in agriculture at an early age while growing up on the family farm. After taking horticulture classes in High School, he found a passion for things that grow and immediately went to work on a local turf farm. He later found Beechfield Landscaping where he worked before moving to Tennessee After a short time away, Tom found his way back to Beechfield to resume a fulfilling career in the landscape industry. Tom is currently an account manager for Beechfield where he helps to oversee the daily property maintenance and enhancement work. Clients can be assured they will reap the benefits of Tom’s 35 years of landscaping experience. Away from work, Tom enjoys outings with both family and friends and watching classic movies.
